Presentation of New Zealand

History
Maori didn’t have their letter, so history was talked form mouth to mouth. Now I’m going to talk about some legend.
The Maori are first group of people who came to New Zealand. They came from HAWAIKI by canoe. Today HAWAIKI is called Polynesia. Then population of Maori began to increase and resources decreased. Then Maori divided into some group and began to fight each group. In this point, HAKA was born. People danced HAKA to scare opponent and make them believe power.
Since 1642, European immigrated especially from the British and the Dutch. Maori concluded a treaty with England on February 6th in 1840. It means Maori became English colony. Today this day is Waitangi anniversary. Maori have strong will, so they were treated equally to the European, New Zealand person after they became colony. Maori cherish their culture, for example word, national anthem, education. So there are many New Zealander who cherish Maori culture.

The Maori

They are native people in New Zealand. There is Maori village in Rotorua city. It's called "Whakarewarewa."The population is three hundred thousand. They account for fourteen percent of the entire population of New Zealand and they are the most populous minority group in New Zealand. People respect them, so that first of national anthem is Maori language. The Maori are human race who come to New Zealand first.

There is interesting culture in Maori. People touch with nose and nose each other as greeting. This is called “HANGI.” They think soul inhabit nose.

The Maori dance the dance that is called “HAKA.” This dance expresses identity of New Zealand. Especially it charge thought of recovery of New Zealand. They dance using all body, hand, foot, voice, eyes, tongue. So this dance seems to threaten. Today rugby team in New Zealand (:All Blacks)dance HAKA before beginning game.

Presentation

According to the articles, this festival is an autumn festival in Germany. It lasts for sixteen days. More than six million people from all over the world visit festival every year. The citizens and tourists enjoy this festival. If you go to this festival, you can enjoy drinking beer with foreigners.

People drink beer and eat a lot, for example sausages, boiled chickn, ox's tail surprisingly. About five million liter of beer is drunk by many people every year. The citizens and the tourists enjoy this festival.

In a few weeks before the festival starts, large tents and amusement grounds are established at Theresienwiese which is nine times as large as Tokyo Dome. After the festival, these are removed. In this festival, twelve thousand people are employed. One thousand and six hundred of them are waiters and waitresses. There are one hundred thousand seats for visiters. In 2006, six breweries sold six million and two hundred thousand liters of beer.

Oktoberfest

Thanksgiving Day
　This holiday takes place in America and Canada every year, but the date is different. In America, it holds on the fourth Thursday of November. In Canada, it holds on the second Monday of October.
　This holiday began in 1621. In 1620, Puritans came to Plymouth from England, because they couldn’t practice their religion freely in Britain. At that time England believed the Church of England. Americans called them ‘The Pilgrims’. Puritans made friends with the Native Americans, and they learned how to grow foods such as corn and pumpkin. Although it was cold in winter and many people died, some of them could pass difficult first winter thanks to Native Americans. The next year they were able to grow more food. Then they thanked God for a good harvest.
　In this holiday,a ceremony takes place at the White House. This means pardon for Turkey, and it is called Turkey Pardon. People eat grilled Turkey which has bread in and mash potato and apple pie and so on. People enjoy eating with each family.

　This movie was exhibited in September 2006, and attracted attention much. Then it won the prize of ten or more, and finally it made a stage in summer 2008.

Story
This movie is nonfiction and its stage is ｃoal-mining town in Hukushima in the 1965's. The coal-mining town was closed by change of time and people were not able to work. To salvage this crisis, coal-mining company decided to construction TOKIWA HAWAIIAN CENTER as a facility of leisure. People in the town met certain woman who is a teacher of hula from TOKYO. She teaches hula to girls in the town then the center would be crowded with many people and the town came to hum.

After watching
I cried when I watched this first time, but my friends said ‘why?’ In this movie, there is a parting scene. A girl who more wants to do fula anyone else was opposed doing fula by her father, and she had to come to leave the town. Her best friend was very sad, but she did her best in stead of her as a leader. After that many problem occurred to them,but they continued dancing whatever happened to them. I was happy to see them dancing with much smile finally.

About this movie
This movie was produced in 2001 by Disney and Pixar, and exhibited in Japan in 2002.This work was performed in 2005 as twenty-five anniversary of Disney on ice.

Character
・Sulley…He is always the best monster in the company. He has the talents most, so he is respected.
・Mike…He is a sulley’s partner.
・Boo…she is child who came from human world.
・Randall…He is a rival, and always tries to become a top.
・Waternoose…He is a President of the company.

Story
In this movie is in monsters city, many monsters live. There is the biggest company in the city which makes money by scaring children. Children’s scream becomes energy of the city.
When it is time to do work, monsters go to children’s room from a door connected to their room, and scare a child. They think things in the human world is poisonous.
One day Sulley found a girl named Boo standing in the company. He was troubled, because he would be dismissed by Waternoose if he was found. Then he tries to send her to home, but he was found by Randall. He was made to send unknown place. There is a snow-covered mountain of human world. He tried to go down to a town and go back to the company from doors in a town. At that time, in the company, Boo was caught by Randall. Then Sulley came back and helped her. Then Sulley send her to her room.
After this disturbance Sulley became a new president and Waternoose had no choice but to quit his job. Sulley changed the company’s system from scaring to making children laugh.

After watching
Monsters inc is one of the my favorite movies in Disney. Such world never exist, but it’s very fantastic world. I love doors, because doors connect to various places around the world. I like Mike, because is funny, and he treasure partner.If such world exist, I want to go there!

In Disney resort, new attraction will come up on 15th April in 2009. I'm looking forward to trying to this.

Summer vacation

August 31 I went to Kanazawa to meet my friend from Nagano. I have never been to there alone, so I was excited before I left.
I took a train to Naoetsu in Niigata at6:30a.m.and I arrived at 8:00. An one hour left until next train, so I decided to go to Naoetsu port on foot. On the my way to the port , I mistook the way, it ran out of time. I only got a photo of the river near the port. Then I came back to Naoetsu station, and took bullet train to Kanazawa. I arrived at 10:30,and met her. I was glad to meet her. She had been thought where we would go, so I could go many place. For example Kenrokuen, 21century museum, Myoryuji temple,Higashi tyayagai etc. At noon we went to Omi town, and ate Kaisendon. It was very good.
In the night of the day, we went to Uchinada sea to do fireworks. When we got to there, there are many people on the beach. Young people were drinking, dancing, skateboarding. We ate dinner near the sea, then did fireworks. Not only fireworks, but also many stars were very beautiful. We had nice time! However, while we were clearing, two men were approaching. At first we were talking, but a few minutes later they recommended alcohol and dance. I was troubling, then she said ‘We are minority’. I was surprised, because she said clearly. I thought she was brave. I stayed her apartment in the day, and I came back to Nagoya on September 1.I had good time in Kanazawa.

September 5 I went to Aichi farm with Jazz club’s member. We had a BBQ there, and looked many animals. There are horse, sheep, goat, cow etc. I also looked pigs. There are white pig and black pig. I was laugh because all of black pig were fell. I wonder black pig was hotter than white pig. I pitied them.
